All aboard!

We – very quietly and without fanfare – opened our doors on Monday of this week to see how the land lies in the world of shopkeeping, and it’s been a wonderfully pleasant initiation. Lots of new friends and old have come by to see us, admire our stock and share some tea & cake.

Earlier this week we were approached by Frank from Artisan Artworks who had noticed we were signless. Truth be told, with being so wrapped up in getting the shop we hadn’t really had time to think about a sign and Frank’s assistance was absolutely magnificent. In speaking to us and establishing what our creative vision was, he constructed a sign and window decal which I believe represents us perfectly.

With apologies for the photographs (which I had to stand in the middle of Great Western Road to take!!) this is how we look now:

Our friend Dannii says she was so excited at seeing the sign she almost crashed her car! Obviously we’re thrilled to have such an impact but please be careful!

I’ll leave you with a couple of interior shots from the start of the week. This week, we have our coffee machine being installed so no more instant. We have the “Purls of Wisdom” knitting group (all welcome) on Monday night from 5pm, the “Sew Solid Crew” sewing group in Wednesday from 6pm onwards and maybe, just maybe a class or two.

Did we mention we have cake?

Some yum-eeeeee carrot cupcakes

  • Hi!

I popped in today to pick up some supplies for a gift for my friend. You were all lovely & extremely helpful (thanks for the recommendation of a beginners book as well!).

I’m almost tempted to keep the yarn & needles myself & start knitting now, so I may be back soon!

The shop is great, good luck!
