Aloha! Apologies for the radio silence but you would not BELIEVE how busy we have been. Or maybe you would?
We have been astounded by how well our first month has gone. We’ve seen lots of faces – both well-kent and new – we’ve had successful classes, we’ve got some absolutely gorgeous new stock in and we have ate a LOT of cake. Luckily for you, I have a few photographs to show you!
First up, you spoke and we listened. The feedback we had with regards to our Busy Bees classes was that an eight week term was too much to sign up to so we have changed the way it works. You can now come in on a drop-in basis every Wednesday (3-5pm) and from the 4th September every Saturday (3-5pm) too. We advise that this session is probably best for Primary School-aged children, but smaller ones are more than welcome as long as they bring a big helper too. This week’s drop in saw some fantastic photo frames, jewellery boxes, doorknob signs and gym bags being decorated instore – I kind of wanted to join in!

These classes have been the focus of much interest and with good reason! Many thanks to Diane and Lainey for facilitating this most excellent (dude) event for youngsters.
We were delighted to read this glowing review written by a participant in our dollmaking class. We have a few more dates available here for those interested in coming along. Helen also took some photographs of the class (full set available here on flickr) and I’ll share a couple with you:
The lady herself

Dolly Kapow in production (you can read about Dolly’s hilarious exploits here)

Also, some of you may already know this but we offer our sewing machines and overlockers for hire in the shop at the bargainous price of £5 for two hours.

Also, those of you with a keen eye for detail will have noticed that we have rebranded our site with our updated logo. For that we really must thank the fabulous Amanda Farren for her brilliant and intuitive work (Vonnie’s directive was pretty much, “Make it nice” – and she did!).

We are absolutely delighted to reveal that in conjunction with Busy Bees Craft Studio, we will be kicking off our 8-week block of childrens classes this Wednesday. The cost is £64 for the term and your little darlings with finish a project most weeks, with some being spread over two weeks.
Diane and Lainey from Busy Bees have suggested this class is most appropriate for 6 years and up, but we can be flexible with this on an individual basis dependant on whether your child is happy to join in with the class without Mum or Dad being there.
